Pony Club

The Pony Club Pledge

As a member of the United States Pony Clubs, I stand for the best in sportsmanship as well as in horsemanship.

I shall compete for the enjoyment of the game well played and take winning or losing in stride, remembering that without good manners and good temper, sport loses its cause for being. I shall endeavor to maintain the best tradition of the ancient and noble skill of horsemanship, always treating my horse with consideration due a partner.

Bridges Equestrian is proud to be part of the United States Pony Club! The United States Pony Club (Pony Club for short) is a national organization that teaches horsemanship through a comprehensive curriculum, taking riders from the very basics up to the highest levels of our sport. Pony Club partners the riding aspect of the sport with age and level appropriate unmounted horse management education. In addition, Pony Club offers leadership opportunities, international exchanges, networking, team competitions and more. Many of the top veterinarians, riders, trainers and farriers have a strong Pony Club background!

You do not need to own or lease your own horse to participate, and can reach the highest levels of horse management without doing much riding at all. While our unmounted program is currently offered at no charge, there is a minimal membership fee to belong to The United States Pony Club, and for our center’s mounted meetings. In addition, you must be a regular Monthly Member in our riding program.

And Pony Club is no longer just for kids! United States Pony Club offers a great program for adults called “Horsemasters.” Bridges Equestrian’s Horsemasters meet once a month, on the second Tuesday, for our “Ride and Dine” lesson at our stable, and discussion after at a local restaurant. Email [email protected] for more information.

*Check your newsletter for updates for any changes, or email [email protected] to confirm the dates.

In addition to our regular meetings, we participate in regional team competitions (rallies) and are very active with the local horse community.
